Sanskrit Name: Bakasana

Focus: Nose

Cautions: carpal tunnel, pregnancy

Benefits:
Strengthens arms and wrists
Stretches upper back
Strengthens and tones abdominal muscles
Opens Groin

Instruction:

  • stand with feet wider than hip width apart
  • squat and place hands on floor
  • lean inner thighs onto elbows and upper arms
  • keep chin lifted, lean forward until you can lift your toes off the ground
  • look forward to prevent falling

Beginner: lean thighs onto elbows and upper arms but keep toes touching the floor

Advanced: Twist both legs to one side so that one elbow has all the weight
